A PROUD MOTHER OF 3 WITH 1 GRANDDAUGHTER. ONCE UPON A TIME A TEEN MOTHER WITH AN EXPERIENCE OF HOMELESSNESS. SHE IS DRIVEN TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS WHO STRUGGLE WITH LIFE'S TRANSITIONS.
About Ta'Shunda N. Joiner, Ph. D
DR. JOINER has a Doctorate in Psychology with a concentration in Biblical Counseling. With a Private Practice, Impactful Minds, LLC. She is an aspiring author and community supporter.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rising concern for homelessness amongst aged out foster care ages 17-24, young mothers, a rise in delinquent behaviors in addition to drop out rates and unemployment on the rise. With these unfortunate factors in mind it is imparitive
to impact the lives of today's youth along with their families beginning with their basic needs which is food water/ shelter and clothing. Before restoration can begin we must be aware of the importance of these basic needs which brings me to Project: We Have Room supports the efforts in combating homelessness among youth and young adults moving through life's transitions.

The late Delores Marie Robertson Mother of Dr. Ta Shunda N. Joiner and Bobby Charles Duckworth, Father of Dr. Chandra Daniels-Duckworth who believed that everyone should have a safe place to lay their head, food to each and something to celebrate.

After personally speaking to owner and operator of Sharing our Secrets Housing https://www.soshousing.org/, Felecia Edelman I learned so much in a short amount of time to assist in the preparation of how to get started on Project "We Have Room". The passion and desire has always been within me as life experiences were used as teaching tools. On my journey I reconnected with a friend, now a mentor Sheila Bellow who was transitioning from Lake Charles, Louisiana to Houston, Texas to start a Veteran's home by the name of Angelic House of Hope www.angelichouseofhope.com. I had never witnessed such strength in an individual who was facing adversity herself homelessness due to the 2020 storms in Lake Charles, her and her husband lost both of their business but with determination and drive she accepted me as her student and taught me first hand everything she knows.
